There’s Always More Than One Right Idea
One of the biggest reasons people have trouble coming up with ideas is that they’re consumed with coming up with the “right” idea. It’s as if there is only one correct answer to a given problem, and all the others are wrong. When it comes to ideas, this just isn’t true.
Most likely, life has conditioned us to believe that every question has one answer. We were taught that in school. Math, science, history, and Spanish almost always have one solitary answer to a problem.
If you checked out my post about why 1 = 3, you’ll know that there are multiple ways to express an idea. Obviously, 1 = 3 is completely false in it’s most understood context. But when changing what “1″ and “3″ represent, it can be made to be true. And there are many, many ways to represent these numbers that will make the statement true.
This is exactly what an idea does. As long as a problem can be solved with a given idea, the idea is not a wrong answer.
Now you will find out that some ideas will work better than others in a given situation. An idea can be more effective than another depending on the context. Only by actually executing your idea will you know for sure whether it will be truly successful or not.
So come up with as many ideas as you can. They will all be right, I promise.
